Annual BYO Rube Goldberg Machine Contest

Rules of the Contest

• Individuals or teams may enter.  Teams are encouraged!
• To enter the contest, you or your team must bring your own Rube Goldberg Machine, set it up, and operate it.
• Your machine must perform an actual task of some kind.
• The Party Host’s machine may not win the contest.  🙂
• Party guests may be drafted as judges by the Party Host.
• Contestants will have 30 minutes to set up their machines and test them.
• Machines must have at least 4 steps or stages to the process.
• Contestants may make up to 3 attempts for their machine to succeed.

ALL MACHINES MUST FUNCTION SUCCESSFULLY AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE AN AUDIENCE IN ORDER TO QUALIFY.

Prizes may be awarded in the following categories:

• Most Impressive Large Machine
• Most Impressive Small (Tabletop) Machine
• People’s Choice
